Steve Slessor is on a mission to drag the construction industry into the 21st Century. As a Director of Infrastructure and Water for leading Scottish contractor Morrison Construction, he pioneered Virtual Reality for health and safety in the construction sector. Steve has a passion for innovation and social value in construction and is an Innovation Champion for the CSIC (Construction Scotland Innovation Centre) and a member of SENSCOT (Social Enterprise Network Scotland). Steve’s background is in commercial management and construction law holding both a Bachelors and Master Degree’s in the subjects. As current Fellow and Vice President of the Chartered Institution of Civil Engineering Surveyors his year of presidency begins in 2020 and will focus on digital construction. Steve also serves on the Scottish Government Cross Party Group for Construction, the University of West of Scotland Industry Advisory Board where he lecturers in Construction Law (Digital Construction). A native Cumbrian, Steve holds a first class Honours Degree in quantity surveying and a distinction at Masters level in construction law and dispute resolution.
